Whenever a new attraction opens, lines are guaranteed to be longer. Everyone wants to be among the first to experience what’s new! If you’re heading to Disney World later this month, definitely start preparing yourself now for massive crowds, blazing summer heat, and a whole lot of excitement. It’s going to be intense!
The MouseHouseNews.net team is predicting that May 26, 2026 will be a day of huge crowds in Disney World. Just in time for the summer season, multiple new attractions and events will be opening on that day alone. We now have additional (surprising) information about how the queue will be handled for one of the incoming attractions.
It’s Going To Be Mayhem (The Electric Mayhem, That Is)
Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be at the forefront of the thrills beginning May 26th. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is set to reopen on that date with new theming. This is a big deal not only for fans of thrill rides… but also Muppets fans, many of whom are still mourning the closure of the theme park’s Muppets Courtyard area. That section of the park closed nearly a year ago to make way for a new Monsters Inc. Land. Now, the moment Muppets fans have been waiting for is finally upon us. The Muppets will be returning for new antics over on Hollywood Boulevard as they take over Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster.

Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem are about to star in their biggest concert yet. Their adoring fans are waiting for them across town. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned. Will they be late for the show? Join in on the chaotic action as you race through Hollywood with the band. The attraction still features the high-speed launch, inversions, and dark ride thrills popular with fans, now with a Muppets-fueled twist and brand new soundtrack! Expect appearances by favorite Muppets Miss Piggy, Kermit the Frog, Gonzo and more. There will also be numerous celebrity cameos, so be on the lookout for stars!
No Virtual Queue
Intriguingly, Disney has confirmed that a highly-speculated component will not be present on opening day. We know there will not be a virtual queue in place when the ride opens to the general public. This is in contrast to past highly anticipated ride openings, where virtual queues were the only way to gain access during the initial periods. For the most part, Disney did away with virtual queues as the primary method of line management in February 2025. However, Disney will still occasionally use them for high demand ride openings and merchandise experiences (like runDisney merchandise or the May the 4th Merchandise Event).

Since we know that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is making its debut just as summer is beginning, it is a little surprising that they are only offering a standby queue. However, this is good news for those who don’t want to wake up early and to attempt to acquire a virtual queue boarding group!
Get Ready To Wait In Line
The ultimate takeaway is this: if you want to experience this re-themed attraction, prepare to wait in line. It’s certain to be popular, especially when it first opens. As the previous Aerosmith version drew to a close, wait times regularly exceeded an hour. New theme + summer crowds + overall curiosity = guaranteed long lines.

For those curious, there hasn’t been any word on whether a single rider line will be available. Unfortunately, many people considered the single rider line for the previous version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster unreliable. It often resulted in equally long (or even longer waits) than the regular standby line. Therefore, hopefully improvements will be made if one is offered for this new version.
