The 30th EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Is Here; This Is Why Disney Adults Won’t Want To Miss It

There are plenty of days on the Walt Disney World calendar that feel special. Today is one of them. That’s because today marks the official opening of the 2026 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, beginning a nearly three-month celebration of food, drinks, music and international flavors at EPCOT.

This year, however, opening day carries a little more weight.

The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is celebrating its 30th anniversary. That makes this year’s festival about more than simply finding your favorite small plate or deciding which marketplace has the best drink. It is a celebration of three decades of one of EPCOT’s most recognizable traditions.

This year’s festival runs through November 21st, giving guests plenty of opportunities to experience the anniversary celebration.

Thirty Years Of Eating Around The World

The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival dates back to 1996, meaning the event has now reached the 30-year milestone. Disney is leaning into that history throughout this year’s celebration, making the anniversary a major part of the 2026 festival experience.

For Disney Adults who have watched the festival evolve over the years, that history makes this year’s event particularly interesting.

EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is 30 years strong

What started as a food-and-wine celebration has become one of EPCOT’s signature annual events. Global Marketplaces now transform the park into an enormous culinary playground, while entertainment, merchandise, scavenger hunts and returning festival traditions give guests plenty of reasons to keep coming back.

The 30th anniversary gives Disney an opportunity to look backward while still giving guests plenty of new things to discover.

Disney Is Celebrating With 30 Festival Favorites

One of the biggest ways Disney is acknowledging the milestone is through 30 dishes that have returned or been reimagined from the festival’s history. That is a particularly fun twist for longtime EPCOT fans. Rather than simply decorating the park with a “30 years” banner and calling it a celebration, Disney is bringing pieces of the festival’s culinary history back to the table.

For Disney Adults, that creates an entirely different reason to explore the menus. You can sample something brand new, revisit a favorite from years past, or discover a dish you weren’t around to try when it originally appeared.

In other words, the 30th anniversary is something you can actually eat.

Don’t Forget Emile’s Fromage Montage

For cheese lovers, another returning festival tradition is Emile’s Fromage Montage. The popular food stroll returns for the 2026 festival, giving guests a chance to sample five featured cheese dishes from participating Global Marketplaces.

Guests can pick up a Festival Passport, purchase five qualifying dishes and collect a stamp for each one. Once all five stamps have been collected, the completed passport can be taken to Shimmering Sips for a festival treat.

It is one of those EPCOT experiences that turns eating into an activity rather than simply stopping for a snack. For Disney Adults making a full day out of the festival, that distinction matters.

The Festival Is More Than Food

While the Global Marketplaces get most of the attention, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival has always been about more than what’s on the plate. The Eat to the Beat Concert Series returns during the 2026 festival, giving guests live entertainment to pair with their food-and-drink adventures. Disney is also offering Concert Series Dining Packages on select dates, which include a meal and guaranteed concert seating.

There is also Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak, the festival’s scavenger hunt that sends guests around EPCOT searching for Remy statuettes. Participants can purchase a map and stickers, complete the hunt at their own pace and receive a keepsake prize.

These extras are part of what makes spending an entire day at EPCOT during Food & Wine different from simply visiting the park for dinner.

Why The 30th Anniversary Makes 2026 Different

There will be plenty of Food & Wine Festival coverage throughout the next several months. Menus will be reviewed, drinks will be ranked, and merchandise will be photographed. Those stories are important, especially if you’re planning a Disney World vacation.

The bigger story today, however, is that the festival itself has reached a milestone that only happens once. Thirty years is a long time for any event to remain an important part of a theme park’s identity. For EPCOT, Food & Wine has become part of the rhythm of the year. Guests return for dishes they remember, search for new favorites, and create traditions of their own.

That is what makes today worth remembering. It isn’t simply the first day of another Food & Wine Festival. It’s the opening day of the 30th!
