Summer may be over at Walt Disney World, but that does not mean you should start sleeping in. Early Theme Park Entry can still be one of the smartest ways to get more out of your Disney World vacation.
Cooler Weather Does Not Mean Smaller Crowds
There is a tendency to associate rope dropping Disney World with the busy summer travel season. Once fall arrives, it can feel like getting to the parks early becomes less important.
That strategy could leave you spending more time in line.

Fall can still bring large crowds to Walt Disney World. There’s the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, Magic Kingdom hosts Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and seasonal events can draw plenty of guests to the resort. There’s also those huge end of year holiday events as well such as Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights. Those events are huge draws to Walt Disney World (and, if you’re lucky enough to be here, you can get some holiday shopping done while visiting)!
Early Theme Park Entry gives eligible Disney Resorts Collection Hotel guests and guests of select other hotels a head start before the parks officially open to everyone.
That Head Start Can Change Your Entire Morning
Those extra minutes might not sound significant on paper, but they can make a noticeable difference when you already have a plan.
Getting into the park early gives you an opportunity to head toward a popular attraction before the larger wave of guests arrives. Knocking out one or two priority attractions early can also free up the rest of your day for dining, entertainment, shopping, and attractions with shorter waits.

For Disney Adults, that can be especially valuable at EPCOT. An early start can help you tackle attractions first, leaving more of your afternoon and evening available to explore festival merchandise and food. Alternatively, you can do some resort hopping… it’s just a monorail ride, Skyliner flight, bus excursion, or boat trip away.
No worries if you don’t want to wake up early during your vacation… you can always purchase tickets for a Disney After Hours event for extra time in the park at night!
Early Entry Is Not Just A Summer Strategy
The biggest mistake is treating Early Theme Park Entry as something you only need when Disney World is packed for summer vacation. Crowd patterns change throughout the year, but popular attractions do not suddenly stop being popular when September arrives.

If Early Theme Park Entry comes with your Disney World hotel stay, build it into your strategy. Arrive early, know which attraction you want to visit first, and take advantage of that head start. Summer may be in the rearview mirror, but at Walt Disney World, setting the alarm a little earlier can still buy you something incredibly valuable: more time to enjoy the parks.
