A trip to Disney World isn’t complete without a stop by Disney Springs, the area’s shopping and entertainment district. There are over 60 dining locations at Disney Springs to satisfy every palate, 80+ retailers and boutiques for all of your shopping and souvenir needs, and multiple stages with live entertainment (including an exclusive Cirque du Soleil show). Disney Adults will also find activities ranging from bowling and a movie theater to a location offering games and challenges specifically for adults. One thing’s for sure: there’s never a dull moment at Disney Springs! The venue can satisfy a variety of interests and makes a special Disney date night, especially during off-peak periods like late August!

The PhotoPass Studio That Just Blends In
One thing many visitors may not realize about Disney Springs is that there is a permanent PhotoPass Studio there. The studio doesn’t require any reservations, and taking pictures there is free. You can easily link photos taken at the PhotoPass Studio to your My Disney Experience account. If you purchased Memory Maker, you’ll be able to download the images taken at the studio along with the rest of your photos.

Where to Find the Studio
If you’re interested in taking some photos on your date night at Disney Springs, or for any other reason, just head to the Marketplace section. You’ll find Disney’s PhotoPass Studio behind the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop, right next to Marketplace Co-op and the Marketplace Co-Op Shipping Station. Use the map feature in your My Disney Experience app for exact directions from your current location.

A Variety of Backdrops and Props
So, what kinds of pictures can you look forward to taking at the Disney Springs PhotoPass Studio? You’ll start in a green screen area. A PhotoPass photographer will direct you through posing in front of a plain-looking backdrop. Don’t worry, though! These photos will be anything but boring. Through the magic of Mickey Mouse himself, your photographer will select from a number of available digital backgrounds to enhance your shot. It works very similarly to the Magic Shots in the theme parks, except this time the whole background will be a surprise! The MouseHouseNews.net team has flown through London skies like Peter Pan, kissed a frog in the bayou like Tiana, shown off our runDisney medals at the “finish line”, and more.

Once you’ve finished in front of the green screen, you’ll head to the physical backdrop area. This background typically changes seasonally. Therefore, you’ll always find something unique. Past examples of physical backdrops we’ve seen include:
- A roaring fireplace during the holiday season where you can cozy up with that special someone.
- A scene depicting the Snuggly Duckling, straight out of Tangled, was set up in Spring 2026.
- A mad tea party, which got curiouser and curiouser, complete with teapot and teacup props!

Personally, I prefer the photos taken in front of the actual backdrop over the green screen ones. They tend to turn out more realistic and less “cheesy”, if you know what I mean. However, I’m still glad to have both options available, because you’ll get unique photos either way!

Disney PhotoPass Captures Your Special Night
The MouseHouseNews.net team loves Disney PhotoPass photography services. It’s even more special to commemorate your Disney date night with a photo! In addition to the Disney Springs studio, you can find PhotoPass throughout all four theme parks and at select Disney Resorts Collection Hotels. In fact, one of my favorite places to get photos taken in Disney World is the PhotoPass Studio at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. That studio provides an actual backdrop (sometimes changing seasonally) and props including Cinderella’s iconic glass slipper. So magical!

The next time you’re on a Disney World vacation and having that unique date night, swing by the PhotoPass Studio to make some fun and romantic memories. An important reminder: if you visit during a day of resort hopping, remember the new rules surrounding use of Disney transportation leaving Disney Springs.
