One…two…three! Say “cheese”! There are countless picture-perfect moments during a Disney World vacation. Did you know that your My Disney Experience app can help you capture those memories? Today, we’re going to talk about how your app can help you chronicle your trip and all the memories made along the way.
What Information You Can Find On The Map
The map feature in your My Disney Experience app unlocks a wealth of information. As is the case with any map, one of the primary functions is to show you where various points of interest are located. You can also toggle to overlay information about entertainment, wait times, restaurants offering Mobile Order, where restrooms are, and much more.

Finding PhotoPass Locations Using The Map
Scroll almost all the way to the right, and you will see an option for PhotoPass. If you tap on the PhotoPass icon, a number of markers will pop up on the map. These markers indicate where every available PhotoPass opportunity can be found. Tapping on an individual icon will display a box giving the name of the location as well as the option to get directions to that spot from your current location. If you prefer to view the options in a list format, tap on “Show List” in the lower right hand corner of the map.
Filtering Locations
One of the nice things about technology is the ability to filter results. If you feel overwhelmed scrolling through 152 available options, you can use filters to get more specific. Likely the main filter you will use will be the “Location” filter. You can select one or more locations to show results. All four theme parks have PhotoPass opportunities. You can also find PhotoPass photographers outside the parks in the PhotoPass studios at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and the PhotoPass studio in Disney Springs.

In addition to applying filters to specify locations, you can also use the map to discover where Magic Shots are being offered. Magic Shots are special photos that take an ordinary photo and add a bit of extra Disney magic. Often, these photos will involve adding special backgrounds or characters into your photo. Don’t worry, Disney’s amazing PhotoPass photographers will help you achieve the perfect pose!

Select locations offer other types of specialty Magic Shots using specialized camera equipment. You can find Super Zoom Magic Shots and Tiny World Magic Shots using map filters as well.
Attraction Photos
For a list of all the attractions offering ride photos, one of the easiest resources is to check out the MouseHouseNews.net article covering the topic. When you’re on-the-go in the Disney theme parks, you can also access this information on your My Disney Experience app. Scroll through the filter options and select “Attraction Photography”. This will apply icons on the map indicating participating attractions. Again, you can also view your options in a list format if you prefer.

Purchasing Your PhotoPass Photos
Everything has a price. PhotoPass downloads are no exception. You have several options when it comes to purchasing your photos:
- Purchase individual photos
- Memory Maker One Day (purchase all photos taken in one day)
- Memory Maker (purchase all photos taken in a 30 day period)
- Annual Pass (with purchase of Disney PhotoPass Downloads add-on)
- Attraction photo downloads are included with your purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Premier Pass

MouseHouseNews.net has done a deep dive into what you need to know if you’re considering purchasing Memory Maker. If you don’t want to commit to Memory Maker’s price tag, PhotoPass Cast Members are able to take pictures of you with your own device for free. The biggest catch is that with your own device, there are some shots you obviously can’t get (like attractions photos or Magic Shots).

To Summarize
Finding those PhotoPass spots is a great way to make sure everyone gets in the picture. A visit to Disney World provides plenty of opportunities for unique photos (you’ll want to collect them all!). You can snap pictures in front of iconic landmarks, chronicle meeting character friends, prove you rode all those exciting rides, and much more. Magic Shots are an especially fun way to add some extra Disney style into your memories. These are just some of the many reasons the MouseHouseNews.net team loves Disney PhotoPass! Stay tuned to MouseHouseNews.net for more tips and tricks you can use to make the most of your next Disney World vacation. We’ll see you real soon!
