Today marks a major milestone for fans of both thrill rides and The Muppets as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets officially opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The reimagined attraction replaces the long-running Aerosmith version of the coaster, bringing a fresh storyline, new music, and plenty of Muppet-style chaos to one of Walt Disney World’s most popular attractions.
The attraction still delivers the same high-speed thrills guests have loved for years, including the iconic launch from 0 to 60 mph and multiple inversions. What has changed is everything surrounding the ride experience. Guests now join The Electric Mayhem as they race through Hollywood on their way to make it to a major concert performance.

The Muppets Take Center Stage
Disney Imagineers worked closely with The Muppets Studio to transform the attraction into a celebration of the beloved characters. The new experience features appearances from Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Animal, Dr. Teeth, Floyd Pepper, and the rest of The Electric Mayhem. A brand-new pre-show introduces guests to the story before they board their “L.I.M.O.” and blast off through the streets of Hollywood.
One of the biggest additions is the attraction’s all-new soundtrack. Rather than focusing on a single rock band, guests can experience multiple musical tracks featuring collaborations between The Electric Mayhem and well-known artists. The result is a ride that feels both familiar and completely new.
Easter Eggs for Longtime Fans
Disney didn’t forget longtime Muppet fans when designing the attraction. The queue and ride feature numerous references to Muppet history, including props from the recently closed MuppetVision 3D attraction and tributes to creator Jim Henson. Guests can also spot returning characters and hidden details that celebrate decades of Muppet entertainment.

A Historic Day for Walt Disney World
The opening of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is part of one of the largest single-day attraction launches in Walt Disney World history. Multiple new experiences debuted across all four theme parks today, making May 26, 2026, a significant day for Disney fans.
Other attractions officially opening today include:
- Soarin’ Across America in EPCOT
- Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- The return of Free Water Park Admission
- Jessie’s Roundup: A Rip-Roarin’ Revue debuts at Diamond Horseshoe in Magic Kingdom

We’ve kept an eye on wait times for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster throughout the day, and they haven’t been too bad. Wait times hovered around an hour most of the day. If you get hungry during your wait, you can always stop by FØØD by Swedish Chef for a bite to eat!
