Reminder: Yachtsman Steakhouse Is CLOSING In Less Than A Week

It may come as a surprise that even with the busy summer season approaching, Disney World must sometimes schedule closures of attractions, dining locations, and other experiences. Mickey and his friends are constantly working to keep everything in tip-top shape, ensuring visitors can continue making magical memories well into the future. Unfortunately, completing this work often requires temporary closures.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Is Undergoing A Lot Of Maintenance Right Now

One Disney Resorts Collection Hotel that is currently undergoing quite a bit of maintenance is Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. This nautically-themed Disney Deluxe Resort is located in the EPCOT resorts area. Being within walking (or boating) distance to both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios makes Yacht Club one of the most convenient locations on property.

It would be impossible to talk about Yacht Club, or its sister resort, Beach Club, without mentioning one of the most amazing amenities they share. Many visitors clamor to book stays at these resorts for access to Stormalong Bay (widely considered one of the most popular resort pools in Disney World). Luckily, Stormalong Bay’s 2025 renovation wrapped up last summer, so this 3-acre waterpark-caliber pool area is no longer in a construction zone. However, that certainly doesn’t mean Yacht Club is done with construction projects.

The MouseHouseNews.net team recently stopped by Yacht Club for lunch at Hurricane Hanna’s (the pool bar outside of Stormalong Bay). While we were there, we took note of the scaffolding still present on much of the exterior facing Crescent Lake. Disney has stated that exterior maintenance will continue through late 2026. If you’re staying at Yacht Club this year, expect to see and hear construction that may affect views and walking paths around the Resort.

Yacht Club Dining Location Refurbishment Projects

The Yacht Club dining scene is about to get a bit more sparse due to interior renovations. In less than a week, the Resort’s signature dining location, Yachtsman Steakhouse, will be closing for refurbishment. MouseHouseNews.net reported back in March that the steakhouse will be temporarily closing beginning May 11th. The closure will last most of the summer. Tentatively, Disney lists a reopening date to be sometime in August 2026. We’ll be sure to keep you updated once we know more!

Crew’s Cup remains closed for now

Next door, Crew’s Cup Lounge has also been closed for refurbishment since late February. The lounge is expected to open sometime later this month. As Marcus suggested during his post about the Crew’s Cup Lounge closure, you can still grab a drink and some lounge bites at nearby Ale & Compass Lounge. Alternatively, you can head over to Beach Club and give Martha’s Vineyard a try.

Where To Find Steakhouse Favorites In The Meantime

Disney World has no shortage of steakhouses. You’ll find one of Marcus’s favorite steaks on property at Jiko – The Cooking Place (it’s definitely worth the trek to Animal Kingdom Lodge!). We highly recommend heading there for an excellent steak, or to one of the other restaurants perfect for a romantic date night! Other MouseHouseNews.net favorite dining locations to order a delicious steak include Citricos at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Jiko does have a great steak!

Even with a few closures this summer, there certainly won’t be a shortage of restaurants during your next Disney World vacation. In addition to numerous table service dining options, there are also plenty of resort quick service locations to choose from. MouseHouseNews.net will be here to keep you updated on all the changes, so definitely stay tuned. Check out our YouTube channel for even more info and fun in the meantime. We’ll see you real soon!
