There is no shortage of ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Walt Disney World. Now that we are only 60 days away from NYE, hopefully you’ve been planning your strategy. Between the massive crowds, spectacular fireworks, and excitement of welcoming another year, Disney World knows how to throw a celebration. However, when December 31st rolls around, there is one theme park where I would rather spend the final hours of the year than anywhere else: Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
While Magic Kingdom and EPCOT attract enormous crowds for their New Year’s Eve celebrations, Hollywood Studios offers something that I particularly enjoy as a Disney Adult. It has a festive, energetic atmosphere that feels more like an outdoor New Year’s Eve party than a traditional theme park visit. For me, that makes all the difference. It really feels like a winner if I am staying at a Disney Resort close to Hollywood Studios, such as Caribbean Beach Resort, allowing me to fly to the park and back using the Disney Skyliner.
Hollywood Studios Brings The Party Vibes For Disney Adults
One of my favorite things about celebrating New Year’s Eve at Hollywood Studios is the overall atmosphere. As the evening progresses, the park takes on a different personality. Erin and I were there last year on NYE after dinner (check out our review of Sebastian’s Bistro). We were looking for a Disney Adult vibe, and that’s exactly what we got. The music was bumping, a DJ was bringing the energy in front of the Chinese Theater, and dance parties gave guests an opportunity to let loose as the final hours of the year ticked away. Sure, there were children enjoying the festivities, too. However, the overall vibe felt decidedly more adult-oriented than what you might typically experience during a day at Walt Disney World.
You will find couples enjoying a holiday date night, groups of friends celebrating together, and plenty of Disney Adults who are ready to dance their way into another year. I recall last New Year’s Eve was quite a cold night, yet Erin and I were still having a great time. There is something particularly enjoyable about being surrounded by other adults who share your enthusiasm for Disney but also appreciate a good New Year’s Eve party.

You can spend part of the evening enjoying attractions, grab something to eat or drink, and then jump right back into the celebration. It is that combination of Disney magic and nightlife energy that makes Hollywood Studios such a winner in my book.
Plenty Of Opportunities To Capture The Memories
New Year’s Eve at Hollywood Studios is also a fantastic opportunity to capture some memorable photos. Between the park’s Hollywood-inspired atmosphere, festive decorations, and special entertainment, there are plenty of opportunities to take pictures that commemorate the occasion.

I particularly enjoy the idea of Disney Adults getting dressed up a little more than usual for the evening. There’s no need to get dressed up like you’re going to Jollywood Nights, but New Year’s Eve is a great excuse to add a little extra style to your Disney night. Take advantage of Disney PhotoPass photographers when available, grab some photos with your significant other or friends, and make sure you capture some of the excitement as midnight approaches.
After all, ringing in a new year at Disney World deserves more than just a few selfies!
The New Year Countdown Fireworks Bring The Night Home
Of course, the biggest moment of the evening comes just before midnight. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is scheduled to present its New Year Countdown Fireworks at 11:57 PM on December 31st, giving guests a spectacular way to welcome 2027.

The park will remain open until midnight, allowing Disney Adults to enjoy the festivities right up until the new year arrives. There is something special about standing among thousands of fellow Disney fans, watching fireworks illuminate the sky, and sharing the excitement of another year beginning.
For couples, it is also a wonderfully romantic moment. What better place to share that first kiss of the new year than at Walt Disney World?
Big Celebrations Without The Biggest Crowds
Magic Kingdom and EPCOT certainly have their own New Year’s Eve appeal. Magic Kingdom celebrates with its Fantasy in the Sky fireworks, while EPCOT brings fireworks and dance parties to its celebration around World Showcase. Both parks attract a huge attendance on New Year’s Eve, with crowds that can become overwhelming and the possibility of capacity-related admission restrictions.

Hollywood Studios is not exactly empty on December 31st. However, it generally attracts smaller New Year’s Eve crowds than those two parks, making it an appealing alternative for Disney Adults who want to celebrate without quite as much chaos.

You still get the excitement, entertainment, and fireworks without necessarily dealing with the same enormous crowds. That is a trade-off I am more than happy to make. Just make sure you have a late night snack waiting for you back in your resort room. The resort quick service restaurants will be closed by the time you return in the first minutes of 2027.
My Favorite Way To Say Goodbye To Another Year
For me, New Year’s Eve at Disney’s Hollywood Studios checks all the right boxes. I love the music, the dancing, the festive atmosphere, and the opportunity to celebrate alongside other Disney Adults who are ready to have a good time. Most importantly, I love that Hollywood Studios manages to combine the magic of Disney with the feeling of a genuine New Year’s Eve party.

There are certainly bigger fireworks celebrations elsewhere at Walt Disney World. However, bigger does not always mean better. Also, for those wanting to avoid the crowds of any theme park, the Disney Resorts generally have smaller festivities going on as well.
When it comes to welcoming another year, Hollywood Studios is where I want to be when the clock strikes midnight. I cannot think of a much better way to start 2027!
