Last Call: Westward Ho Serves Its FINAL Guests Today at Magic Kingdom

Disney Adults, another piece of Frontierland history is preparing to ride off into the sunset.

Today, June 21, 2026, marks the final day of operation for Westward Ho Refreshments at Magic Kingdom. As MouseHouseNews.net previously reported, the longtime Frontierland snack stand is closing starting tomorrow as Walt Disney World continues making way for the upcoming Piston Peak National Park expansion inspired by Pixar’s Cars franchise.

Why Fans Will Miss Westward Ho

Located near the entrance to Frontierland, Westward Ho has been a convenient stop for guests looking for frozen lemonade, Joffrey’s cold brew, the Mickey-shaped Bacon-Pecan-Caramel Cinnamon Roll, and other quick snacks while exploring one of Magic Kingdom’s most beloved lands. For many Disney Adults, it was also a reliable place to grab a refreshing drink before hopping aboard Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or making their way toward Liberty Square.

The closure is the latest in a series of Frontierland changes tied to Disney’s largest-ever Magic Kingdom expansion. Recent construction projects have already resulted in the closure of Big Al’s, the Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat as Disney transforms the area into the future home of Piston Peak National Park.

Disney has not issued a formal announcement specifically celebrating the closure of Westward Ho, but several indicators have pointed to today’s final operating date. The location disappeared from digital park maps earlier this year, and Walt Disney World’s operating calendar no longer lists hours for the snack stand beginning June 22.

You Can Find One Favorite In A New Location

Disney Adults who have made Westward Ho a tradition may be happy to know that one of its most popular menu items has already found a new home. The fan-favorite Candied Bacon Skewer recently relocated to Golden Oak Outpost, allowing visitors to continue enjoying the sweet-and-savory snack even after Westward Ho closes.

While the closure may not generate the same headlines as an attraction retirement, it represents another significant change to Frontierland’s classic atmosphere. As construction walls continue to advance through the area, longtime Walt Disney World fans are watching a familiar section of Magic Kingdom evolve into something entirely new.

Guests visiting Magic Kingdom today may want to make one final stop at Westward Ho before the frontier favorite officially closes its window for good.
