Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party And Other HAUNTS Returning To Disney World

Halloween is pulling up early again at Walt Disney World Resort, and this time, it’s arriving sooner than ever! Yesterday, MouseHouseNews.net told you about how Disney has started dropping hints for Halfway To Halloween. At the cornerstone of these hints is the ever-popular Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Now, we can confirm that the Halloween party will officially start on August 7, 2026. Get ready for the spooky vibes… even if they start in the middle of summer!

It’s back for 2026!

August Nights Just Got Spooky

While Disney has not always started its Halloween party this early, recent trends show the season creeping earlier each year. Historically, the event runs on select nights from mid-August through Halloween, transforming Magic Kingdom into a festive, fall-inspired playground.

The early August 7th kickoff continues that momentum, giving guests more chances than ever to experience the event (and more time for those popular dates to sell out… which they consistently do).

It’s only April, but Disney is thinking about fall!

What Makes This Party Worth the Extra Ticket

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party isn’t just a seasonal overlay; it’s a full-on after-hours experience with exclusive entertainment you won’t find during regular park days.

Here’s what Disney Adults can expect:

  • The fan-favorite Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade
  • The Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks hosted by Jack Skellington
  • An opportunity to attend Magic Kingdom dressed in costume
  • Meet with rare characters such as Ursula, The Queen of Hearts, and Oogie Boogie
  • The villain-packed Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
  • Trick-or-treat trails across the park with included candy
  • Exclusive Halloween props and Magic Shots from Disney PhotoPass photographers
  • Characters in rare Halloween costumes
  • Attractions with eerie, limited-time overlays

The event runs from 7 PM to midnight on select nights, giving guests a limited-capacity experience with a completely different energy than a typical park day. As an added bonus, Halloween party guests can actually enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 PM on the date of their party. So hop on that monorail early and come on down for an additional few hours of fun!

There is so much to do at the party that you are given a brochure upon entering!

Park Impacts For Those Not Attending The Party

If you are visiting Magic Kingdom between August and October, you’ll want to take note of these party dates even if you don’t attend. On these dates, Magic Kingdom will close to the public at 6 PM. What this means is that you will need to leave the park early, giving you less hours to spend in the park. On top of that, you will not get an opportunity to see a fireworks show at Magic Kingdom that day. If this is important to you, then you may want to visit another theme park such as Disney’s Animal Kingdom on these days (or explore the immersive Disney Resorts). Alternatively, if you have a park hopper ticket, you can use the free Disney transportation and hop to another park at 6:00. Might I suggest the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, which kicks off in August?

Partygoers get a wristband to identify their ability to remain after the park closes early

When You Can Purchase Tickets

At this moment, those wanting to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are wondering when you can buy your tickets to the party. Disney has confirmed that tickets for the Not-So-Scary party can be purchased starting May 5th for guests with a reservation at a Disney Resort, Swan and Dolphin hotel, and Shades of Green. For those without resort reservations, tickets will be available starting May 12th. As always, Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members can get a $10 discount per ticket purchased for event dates through October 2nd. The tickets cost between $119 – $229 plus tax and vary based on the event date. When it is time to make that purchase, you can do so on Disney’s website. The general rule of thumb is that tickets are cheapest for the earliest event dates (with the exception of opening day) and gradually get more expensive the closer you get to Halloween.

It goes without saying that this party sells out every year, and it happens ahead of time, so make those plans sooner rather than later.
