Breakfast: the most important meal of the day. Admittedly, I don’t always take time to eat breakfast during my Disney World trips. This is because I’m often thinking ahead to all of the snacks I want to try! Breakfast is still important though, and there is no shortage of options available. Let’s talk about some different ways you can enjoy a morning meal in Disney World. Then, I want to tell you about one of my newest favorites…
A Run-Down Of A Few Breakfast Dining Options
In Disney World, you have multiple choices when it comes to your first meal of the day:
- Some people prefer to head straight to the theme parks and grab a quick bite between rides. I’d easily recommend favorite items like the Cheshire Cat Tail from Cheshire Cafe or the Caramel-Apple Pie Funnel Cake from Epic Eats (I swear it counts as breakfast!). Other choices are just “okay” (looking at you, Mickey-shaped Bacon-Pecan-Caramel Cinnamon Roll from Westward Ho). Your mileage may vary, but trying new things is definitely half the fun!
- You can indulge in a character dining experiences. There are numerous options around Disney property, so take your pick from buffets, family-style meals, or a traditional table service meal. Each experience comes with its own unique set of characters, so you can pick a meal to meet your favorites! Personally, I’ll give a ringing endorsement to Breakfast a la Art at Topolino’s Terrace. It definitely lives up to the hype as one of the best character dining experiences on property!

- If you’re not quite ready to meet characters first thing in the morning (or don’t want the price tag that comes with it), you can elect to make an advanced reservation at a regular table service or buffet experience. From classic breakfast favorites to more unique options, you’re sure to fuel your day. My top pick is always going to be Boma – Flavors of Africa (it’s my number one choice at dinner too…).
- Enjoy a quick (or leisurely) breakfast from your resort Quick Service location. I’ve dedicated several posts to both classic and unique breakfast options to start your Disney Day. Favorites like Mickey Waffles (you can find them everywhere), Tonga Toast from Polynesian Village Resort, and pastries including Wilderness Lodge’s Grizzly Bear Claw top the list!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is easily in my top 3 favorite Disney Resorts. The theming and architecture are top notch. Every time I visit, I discover something new. As an animal lover, the animals are definitely one of the biggest reasons I love this place! Be sure to check out our resort review here on the blog!

In addition to animals right outside your window, stunning attention to detail, and Disney Deluxe Resort amenities (like Extended Evening Hours), Animal Kingdom Lodge has some of the best dining options on property. Being a Disney Deluxe Resort also means it has more dining options overall as compared to Moderate and Value Resorts.
Since I spend most of my time in Animal Kingdom Lodge at Jambo House, you will most frequently hear me talk about dining options there. Restaurants in Jambo House include Boma – Flavors of Africa (a delicious and inspired buffet), Jiko – The Cooking Place (an amazing signature table service), and The Mara (the Resort’s quick service location). However, Animal Kingdom Lodge also has a building devoted to Disney Vacation Club Villas. This section is known as Kidani Village. You can find another very popular restaurant over there, so let’s talk about it!

Sanaa is best known for being a table service restaurant serving “African cooking with Indian Flavors”. Perhaps one of the most exciting things about dining at Sanaa is the view. The restaurant’s windows look right out onto Sunset Savanna. This means you can observe giraffes, zebras, kudu, and more during your meal. It’s like dinner and a show in one!
Kidani Village Breakfast at Sanaa
While you can make advanced dining reservations for lunch and dinner at Sanaa, breakfast is a completely different dining experience. From 7:30am to 11:00am, you can enjoy a meal at Sanaa with no reservations required! At breakfast, Sanaa functions as a quick service dining location.

When you arrive at Sanaa for breakfast, you will head to the bar area to place your order and pay. You can choose to eat in or have your food packaged for to-go. After ordering, you will be given a number to place on your table. Now, all you have to do is select your seat! You have your choice of available tables within the restaurant during breakfast. When given the choice, I’m always going to grab a table by the window so I can see the animals while I dine!
When your order is ready, a Cast Member will bring it to your table. If you chose to dine-in, your meal will come on real plates (that you can eat from with real silverware!). Silverware is available near the complimentary water station.

Menu options at Sanaa Kuamsha Breakfast include twists on standard breakfast items. The specific item I want to talk about today is the Banana Bread French Toast. When I tell you it’s a glorious new favorite concept that I want to recreate at home, I’m not exaggerating.
Banana Bread French Toast Review
Banana Bread French Toast is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: French toast made out of thick slices of banana bread. The size of the slices makes sense, as it helped the bread stay together nicely and not crumble apart. The slices I received were nice and toasty, and the banana flavor really shined through.
The delicious slices of French toast were covered in a rich banana-caramel sauce. There was no shortage of this delicious caramel on the plate! Honestly, the abundance of caramel made the container of maple syrup on the side seem unnecessary (in my opinion). However, it’s there if you do want or need it!

In addition to the caramel and bananas, the French toast was topped with a delicious, light-tasting Chantilly cream. The cream was like a luxurious cloud, and added a hint of vanilla without being rich or overpowering. The final layer of flavor was a hint of berry from the raspberry sauce garnishing the plate. I enjoyed scooping a little of all the ingredients onto each forkful. Yum!
Now, the negatives. My serving did not come with toasted pecans, which were listed on the menu. That was somewhat disappointing. Also, for some reason they put shredded mint on top. The mint added absolutely nothing to the dish. In fact, I felt it gave those bites a weird off-taste. I was not a fan, and ended up scraping the remaining slivers of mint off the rest of my breakfast after a few bites.
Final Thoughts On Sanaa Breakfast
This was not the first time the MouseHouseNews.net team has enjoyed Sanaa’s quick service breakfast. Not surprisingly, another variation of French toast called to me back in 2024. The previous version was basically regular slices of French toast, topped with caramel sauce and brûléed bananas. That one was good, but this banana bread version definitely feels like an upgrade!

Overall, the quiet atmosphere, ability to enjoy breakfast while watching animals, and delicious food will certainly warrant a return visit in the future. If you’re staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, it is worth the trek over to Kidani Village to have breakfast at Sanaa. To get to Kidani Village from Jambo House, you can take one of the Resort shuttles or enjoy a leisurely walk. The walk takes less than 10 minutes, and you can see the route in the video below.
Breakfast is certainly shaping up to be one of my favorite meals of the day in Disney World. Stay tuned to MouseHouseNews.net for more dining reviews and recommendations for breakfast & beyond. We’ll see you really soon!
