The One Ride In Each Disney World Theme Park That Will Get You SOAKED

We are approaching that time of the year where temperatures at Walt Disney World will regularly exceed 90 degrees. The mercury on the thermometer has already reached this point more than once this year, and we’re in for much more of this coming up. It’s that time of the year when people actually don’t mind being hit with a blast of cold water, or getting downright soaked during the heat of the afternoon. If you are planning to visit Walt Disney World in the future and you suspect it will be hot, here are the rides in each park that can provide a much needed cold blast of water.

Magic Kingdom: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Taking a ride on the bayou has never been so entertaining! Princess Tiana is throwing a big party at her new restaurant, but she needs some jammin’ musicians to help entertain. As you float down the bayou, you’ll help her by inviting the talented critter musicians you meet to her party. It makes for a great time with great music and plenty of shaded areas, but be prepared for a giant 50-foot drop that sends water gushing up into the ride vehicle (and all over you)! You’re very likely to get wet, which is a nice break from the heat. However, if you don’t want to walk around with wet clothes, you may want to slip that poncho on before riding this one!

EPCOT: Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana

This one is more of an attraction than a ride, however, the walk-through exhibit at EPCOT is all about the water. You will learn all about the life-cycle of water and be able to interact with water in so many ways. This is a self-guided exploration trail that not only allows you to play with the water, but also learn about how you can protect this natural resource of ours. Some of the exhibits along the trail can get you pretty wet, but there is also a dry path for most of the wet areas in case you don’t want to get wet. If you really want to be perplexed, walk through the water curtain and see how you can do so while staying dry!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Kali River Rapids

Not sure exactly why this is, but it is a unanimous decision amongst the MouseHouseNews.net team that Disney’s Animal Kingdom always seems to be the hottest feeling park. It’s like the temperature always feels 10 degrees warmer than it actually is while in this park. As such, you may really want a cold splash of water while visiting DAK in the summer. If so, Kali River Rapids is your ride. You’ll raft down a river with whitewater rapids past an erupting geyser and numerous waterfalls. Before you know it, you’ll careen down a 20-foot slope… and you’ll be wet even if you’ve managed to stay dry up to that point. Much like with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, if you don’t want to get too wet, you can choose to wear a poncho.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Unfortunately, there is no attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that will give you a nice cold splash of water to help you cool off. Might we suggest a stop at Hollywood Scoops for a Mickey Brownie Sundae instead?
