There are some rides and restaurants at Walt Disney World that are fan favorites because they are exciting, then there are those that are popular due to nostalgic reasons. It seems that a similar split opinion exists for Muppets Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which largely consists of the Muppet*Vision 3D attraction & restaurants such as PizzeRizzo and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano. After all, Muppet*Vision 3D doesn’t exactly contain cutting edge technology, PizzeRizzo is rat pizza (IYKYK), and Mama Melrose’s is not a contender for the best dining in the park. However, all of these fixtures in Muppets Courtyard would be missed by some if they closed… which is exactly what is happening in the next couple of months.

In order to make way for a new Monsters, Inc. Land, Muppets Courtyard will be coming to an end. There are a couple of dates you need to be aware of if you have a Disney World vacation within the next couple of months and would like to experience anything in Muppets Courtyard for one last time.

- Mangia at Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano through May 10, 2025. As of Mother’s Day (May 11), the doors will be closed forever.
- Rizzo will be serving up his doughy pizza and meatball subs at PizzeRizzo through June 7, 2025. After that date, his lease expires and so does your opportunity to dine there.
- The curtain closes on Muppet*Vision 3D for the final time on June 7, 2025. On June 8th, the Muppets will take a temporary break, then return in the future for a reimagined Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at a yet to be announced date.

If you plan to visit Walt Disney World soon, you may be able to swing by one or all of these locations one last time before they close for the reimagination of Muppets Courtyard into the new Monsters, Inc. Land. If you won’t be able to say goodbye, there will be plenty to expect from the new land once it opens. Anchoring the future land will be a new Monsters, Inc-based attraction where you start in the famous door vault and be hoisted into the air on the very first suspended coaster in any Disney theme park. It is too early for a concrete time frame on when to expect the Monsters, Inc. Land to open, but you can expect work to begin transforming the area quickly after the closing of the current tenants. Stay tuned to MouseHouseNews.net and we’ll keep you informed on the implications of this transformation on your future vacations to Walt Disney World.
