Of All The Boat Rides In Disney World, These Are TOPS

There is a ride category you can find virtually everywhere at Walt Disney World: boat rides. Today we have one more boat ride than we did yesterday! In case you missed it, Frozen Ever After is reopening today after undergoing a brief refurbishment. To celebrate the return of this fan-favorite attraction, I thought it would be fun to discuss my other top Disney World boat ride picks with you. So, let’s take a journey that will be at times thrilling, other times relaxing, but always full of Disney magic.

Captain Jack Sparrow would approve

Pirates of the Caribbean

Ahoy, Mateys! Let’s begin our journey in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland. This “ride that inspired a movie that inspired a ride” will bring you face to face with pirates, cannonballs, blazing fire, pillaging, and more! Oh, and you might get wet. One of my favorite things about this ride is the smell. It’s quite distinct due in part to the bromine Disney uses in the water. Keep an eye out for our favorite pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow, throughout your voyage. By the end, you’ll be joining in on a hearty chorus of “Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a pirate’s life for me…”. Just remember, dead men tell no tales!

Say “cheese” while plummeting 50-feet!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Keeping up with the thrills, we’re moving on to Frontierland in Magic Kingdom for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. This attraction was formerly known as Splash Mountain, but reopened under the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure theme in June 2024. I absolutely love all of the details that went into designing the attraction and the queue. This log flume ride becomes a musical adventure as you help Princess Tiana and Louis search for musical critters to complete the band. Culminating with a 50-foot drop, you’re almost guaranteed to get wet on this one. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure features a soundtrack of familiar favorites from The Princess and the Frog as well as an original song. It’s definitely a joyful celebration that’s sure to bring a smile to your face!

This is a relaxing, yet entertaining dark boat ride

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros

Now, we’re going to switch gears. Let’s head over to EPCOT for a couple of relaxing boat rides. Our first stop is the Mexico pavilion. Step inside the pavilion’s distinctive pyramid to discover Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros. Join Panchito and José Carioca as they search high and low for their missing amigo, Donald Duck. There are no sudden drops or splashes on this attraction (meaning, no risk of getting wet). Instead, you’ll be treated to lively music and a small sample of the varied sights, sounds, and places of Mexico. This one is fun because it combines live action with animation and a catchy soundtrack.

The boat ride is also educational

Living with the Land

Another relaxing EPCOT attraction that is as informative as it is entertaining is Living With the Land. This boat ride takes you along to learn about the history and future of farming. You will also get a behind-the-scenes look at the greenhouses where Disney World horticulturalists are utilizing creative growing techniques to advance the future of farming. Fun fact: Disney restaurants including Garden Grill and Sunshine Seasons prepare meals for guests using the sustainable crops and fish featured in this attraction. If you can’t get enough Living with the Land, you may want to consider booking a Behind the Seeds tour, which the MouseHouseNews.net team reviewed last year.

This ride reminds us that, despite physical and cultural differences, we’re more similar than we think

It’s A Small World

For the grand finale, I’m going back to Magic Kingdom to end with a somewhat divisive pick. I realize this one is not everybody’s favorite attraction. Hear me out though! The “happiest cruise that ever sailed” is a Walt Disney classic. There are charming Audio-Animatronics representing children from around the world and colorful renditions of well-known international places. The ride also features a soundtrack with the earworm-to-end-all-earworms song that emphasizes an important message for our planet: it really is a small world after all.

So whether you choose thrilling or relaxing (or a mix of both), I hope you’ll set sail on some of Disney World’s boat rides during your next vacation.
