The end of the year is one of the most popular times for people to visit the Walt Disney World parks. It is that time of the year where wait times for rides are at their highest, as are the admission prices. For those who pack their patience and brave those shoulder to shoulder crowds, there is a big payoff this year. Disney has announced that there will be parties at three, yes, three of the Disney World theme parks to ring in the new year! If you happen to be one of the lucky ones attending the parks, here is what you can expect at each park.
Magic Kingdom
At Magic Kingdom, you can expect dual showings of the special “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks show – first at 6:30 PM and then at 11:50 PM. This special fireworks show is in place for December 30th and December 31st, and replaces the “Happily Ever After” fireworks show for both days.
EPCOT
Over at EPCOT, there will be dance parties with DJs all over World Showcase on December 31st! Get your fireworks fix with “Luminous – The Symphony of Us”, which will shift up in the evening to 6:30 PM. Then, view “Cheers to the New Year: A Sparkling Celebration”, which has a New Years countdown starting at 11:54 PM.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Finally, at Hollywood Studios, there will be live entertainment and DJs throughout the night. They will have a Pixar Dance Party and there will be special character experiences all over the park. As the year rolls to a close, you can expect a New Year Countdown Fireworks show.
