Throughout Summer 2026, these guests will receive free water park admission on their resort check-in day. It’s certainly one of the hottest perks of the summer! Plus, staying on site also means free transportation to the water parks. It’s a win-win!
Both Water Parks Are Currently Available
To sweeten the deal even further, guests can choose which water park to visit. That’s because Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are both currently open. Will you choose to float along the 3,000 foot-long lazy river and dare to conquer Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach?
Alternatively, maybe you’d rather tackle North America’s largest wave pool and Crush ‘n’ Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon. Take your pick of either water park from now until September 8th.
How Split Stays Can Impact Your Plans
Here’s another option to consider: How about visiting both water parks? Disney’s free water park admission is tied to your check-in day. Booking a split stay between two (or more) Disney Resorts during the same vacation means you can receive free water park admission on each resort check-in day. Mind blown!
Typhoon Lagoon Won’t Be Open Forever
I’ve already mentioned the ever-important date of September 8, 2026. Again, this is the last day that Disney Resort guests can take advantage of the free water park perk for 2026. You should also be aware that September 8th is the last operating day of the season for Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.
Typhoon Lagoon will temporarily close beginning September 9, 2026. During less busy periods, Disney typically only keeps one water park open at a time. Don’t worry though, it will reopen again at a later date! MouseHouseNews.net will keep you posted.
Other Ways To Stay Cool
Whether it’s your check-in day or another day during your magical vacation, there are lots of ways to stay cool without even visiting a water park.
- First (and most importantly), stay hydrated! I recommend grabbing complimentary cups of ice water whenever you have a chance.

- Seek out A/C. If you’re in the theme parks, there are many different indoor rides. In particular, I recommend riding one of the boat rides.
- Visit your hotel’s pool. Disney pools have amazing theming. I want to give a specific shoutout to Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts! If you’re staying there right now, I’m super jealous.
