There’s nothing like the camaraderie and excitement of a runDisney race! You’re surrounded by other Disney enthusiasts in creative costumes. Everyone is getting hyped up by the emcees and special guests. There’s an opportunity to meet a bunch of characters (including rare ones) along the route. Let’s not forget the epic medals you can earn as a finisher! These are just some of the reasons why runDisney events are unparalleled.
Whether or not you’re lacing up your running shoes for the 2026 Springtime Surprise Weekend (less than two weeks to go!), it’s almost time to register for another race series. The best part is, you can run this next series from anywhere!
runDisney Virtual Series
The 2026 runDisney Virtual Series begins June 1st and runs (pun intended) through August 31st. Runners who register can complete their magical miles anywhere they choose. Have a Disney vacation planned during that time? There are some magical jogging trails around property! No trip planned but still want to participate? You can run your miles at a park or jogging path closer to home! Either way, you get the chance to earn medals inspired by beloved Disney movies from the 1990s and 2000s. You can choose your own completion date and pace for the virtual series.
Available Races and Challenge
We’ll get to the medal reveal shortly. First, let’s go over a few more details about the available races, registration dates, and so forth.
Choose from one or more of the following:
- Go The Distance Virtual 5K celebrating Disney’s Hercules
- Kuzcotopia Virtual 5K themed to The Emperor’s New Groove
- Just Around the Riverbend Virtual 5K remembering Disney’s Pocahontas
- An Extremely Goofy Virtual Challenge (totaling 9.3 miles) themed to A Goofy Movie
Race Registration
Are you ready to lace up your pixie-dusted running shoes? Registration for the Virtual Series races and challenge opens to the general public on April 7, 2026 at 10:00am Eastern Time. You can register for available races on the runDisney Virtual Series page. Each individual 5K is priced at $59.00, or you can register for the challenge for $185.00 to complete all 3 races. Registration for the virtual series, like other runDisney events such as the Wine & Dine registration, does tend to sell out. If you’re interested in running any of the races, consider registering as soon as possible!
The Medals You Can Earn

In addition to the characters featured and varied shapes of the medals themselves, I personally love how even the neck ribbons reflect the theme of each movie!
