Guests visiting EPCOT this spring will soon say goodbye to one version of a fan-favorite attraction.
As MouseHouseNews.net reported last year, EPCOT’s Soarin’ Around the World will temporarily rebrand to Soarin’ Across America on May 26th. To allow Walt Disney World time to introduce a refreshed version of the iconic flight simulator, Soarin’ Around the World will close beginning May 14, 2026.
The new ride will be a new experience celebrating the landscapes and landmarks of the United States.

Last Chance To Ride Around The World
If you want one more journey past global landmarks like the Great Wall of China, the Eiffel Tower, and the Taj Mahal, you’ll need to plan ahead.
The final day to ride Soarin’ Around the World is expected to be May 13, 2026, with the attraction closing the following day to prepare for the updated experience. Fortunately for guests visiting during the early summer travel season, the closure is expected to be brief.
Disney has confirmed that Soarin’ Across America will debut on May 26, 2026, meaning the attraction should only be down for less than two weeks before welcoming riders again. As was the case with many ride re-openings such as Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, the MouseHouseNews.net team would not be surprised if there is a soft opening of Soarin’ prior to that.
A Coast-To-Coast Flight Experience
The upcoming version of the attraction will take guests on a sweeping aerial journey across the United States. We can expect to see some of the country’s most recognizable landscapes and skylines. According to Walt Disney Imagineering, the new film captures more than a dozen locations across the country, showcasing everything from dramatic natural scenery to iconic cities.
While the footage will be new, the attraction’s core experience remains the same. Riders will still glide through the air in the familiar setup that includes:
- A massive 180-degree, 80-foot IMAX digital projection dome
- Motion-simulated hang-gliding seats
- Wind effects and environmental scents
- A sweeping musical score
The attraction remains located inside The Land Pavilion, one of EPCOT’s original Future World locations.

Arriving Just In Time For A Historic Celebration
The new American-themed version of the attraction is being introduced as part of celebrations surrounding the United States Semiquincentennial. Disney says the experience is designed to honor the country’s natural beauty and cultural landmarks. The refresh also gives guests a fresh new way to experience the beloved attraction.
Why EPCOT Fans May Want One Last Ride
Since debuting in 2016, Soarin’ Around the World has become one of the most popular attractions inside EPCOT’s World Nature section. The ride’s sweeping global journey and iconic musical score have made it a must-do for many Disney fans. With the upcoming transition to Soarin’ Across America, this Spring offers a limited opportunity to catch the attraction’s current film before the new flight path takes over.

If EPCOT is on your travel plans soon, it might be time to squeeze in one last trip around the world before the ride starts soaring coast to coast. While you’re there, don’t forget to check out the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Passholders will also want to check out the 2026 V.I.Passholder Summer Days starting May 1, 2026.
