As we enter the spring and summer seasons, large crowds of visitors will continue flocking to Walt Disney World for a magical vacation experience. When planning your own trip, it’s important to be aware of any closures that may impact you.
Disney’s Yacht Club is a lakeside resort featuring a coastal aesthetic and nautical theming. The resort is located in the EPCOT resorts area. While it is within walking distance of both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can also take a boat to those theme parks if you prefer. The resort shares several amenities with its sister resort, Beach Club, including an epic, waterpark-like pool area called Stormalong Bay.
MouseHouseNews.net previously reported on the temporary closure of Crews Cup Lounge at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. This lounge is still expected to reopen in May 2026; however, an exact opening date has yet to be announced. Upcoming Closure For Yachtsman Steakhouse
We need to inform you about another short-term closure at Yacht Club, which may affect your summer travel plans. Yachtsman Steakhouse, the resort’s signature dining location, will be closing for a temporary refurbishment beginning May 11, 2026. The closure is expected to last until sometime in August 2026.
Other Steakhouse Options During The Closure
If you’re in the mood for a classic steak dinner during your May through August stay, you’re not without options during this closure. Here are just a couple of ideas:
- Nearby at the Dolphin Hotel, you can find Bourbon Steak, a newer upscale steakhouse from Michelin-starred chef Michael Mina. Note: Bourbon Steak does not participate in Disney Dining Plans and does not accept any Disney forms of payment (including Disney Gift Cards, MagicBand, or Disney Dining Cards).
- With EPCOT admission, you can dine at Le Cellier in the Canada Pavilion. This cozy restaurant serves up signature entrées and butcher’s cuts as well as seasonal offerings inspired by Canadian provinces.
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort is home to one of the MouseHouseNews.net team‘s favorite steakhouses, Steakhouse 71. Steakhouse 71 is a casual steakhouse that offers delicious steaks at a more affordable price. I highly recommend choosing the au gratin potatoes as your side, and adding the sauce flight for an elevated experience!
We’ve had excellent steaks at other Disney restaurants on property as well. Check out Jiko – The Cooking Place, Citricos, or California Grill for other delicious steaks in a signature, upscale atmosphere! Other Dining Options At Disney’s Yacht & Beach Clubs
If you are staying at Disney’s Yacht Club during the closure and don’t want to stray too far from your resort for a meal, you won’t go hungry while Yachtsman is closed. Other options include:
- Ale & Compass, a coastal-inspired restaurant at Yacht Club featuring a variety of seafood and comfort dishes
- Beaches & Cream at Disney’s Beach Club offers diners burgers and other classic diner fare along with over-the-top ice cream creations (tackle the Kitchen Sink, if you dare!)
- Cape May Cafe at Beach Club offers a surf-and-turf dinner buffet with a bounty of eats including a Traditional New England Seafood Boil and Chef’s Carving Station
In addition to the current and upcoming lounge and restaurant closures, Yacht Club is undergoing exterior maintenance in 2026. This may impact the noise level throughout the resort as well as available walking paths and, of course, the views.
