Walt Disney World guests have numerous delicious breakfast options from which to choose each morning. Some Disney Adults prefer to get something grab-and-go to eat on the way to rope drop. Others want to sit down for a more leisurely meal at a resort. No matter which camp you fall into, Disney has something to start your day off right!
Breakfast is one of the MouseHouseNews.net team‘s favorite meals. If you want to revisit some of our top breakfast picks, check out our previous post about delicious Disney breakfast items. Today, we’re going to discuss another tasty Disney World breakfast option. Allow me to present one of the most massive breakfast pastries ever: the Grizzly Bear Claw from Roaring Fork at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

A bear claw is a very appropriate pastry to grab at a resort themed to the Pacific Northwest! These pastries get their name from the shape. The dough is straight on one side, with slits cut into the other that resemble a bear’s toes. Classic bear claws generally consist of a flaky, yeasted dough filled with a sweet almond filling. They are topped with a glaze/drizzle and sliced almonds. Disney’s version of a bear claw is slightly different, but no less delicious. Let’s take a closer look!

Honestly, this one almost speaks for itself. It is a classic flaky bear claw pastry. This version is filled with mixed nuts and raisins, but it still has the sweet icing drizzle on top. The most noticeable thing about it, and arguably the most impressive, is the size. Bigger than your hand…bigger than your head. No matter how you choose to describe it, it’s massive.
At first glance, the current price tag of $11.29 seems expensive for a single pastry. However, when you think about the actual size, it’s a breakfast bargain. This Grizzly Bear Claw is definitely shareable. If you usually only eat a light breakfast, it’s possible for a single pastry to take care of breakfast for multiple days. As an example, when I purchased one, I needed Marcus’s help to complete it. Even then, it took two days for us to complete it.

The texture of the pastry was a good compromise between flaky and dense. It was more dense than a cinnamon roll or croissant. Unlike our recent experience with Westward Ho’s cinnamon roll, this pastry was not dry at all. There was also a lot of filling in there! If you are not a fan of raisins, be aware that there are some included in the filling. Thankfully, it’s not an overwhelming amount. You will notice them though. My pastry had just the right amount of icing drizzle to add some sweetness without being overpowering.

Overall, the team would recommend grabbing a Grizzly Bear Claw if you are staying at Wilderness Lodge. Pair it with a Gold Rush Latte (a vanilla latte with caramel that I highly recommend!), and you’ll have a satisfying and sweet breakfast for an extra $5.99.
