Disney World Rides We Expect To RETURN At Any Time

Disney World Rides We Expect To RETURN At Any Time

If there is one thing Disney Adults know about Walt Disney World, it is that something is always being re-imagined. Rides are re-themed, entire areas are overhauled, and expansions happen. We are in the midst of a very expensive expansion in Magic Kingdom along with an overhaul of lands there, in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Of course, EPCOT recently wrapped up a number of multiyear projects that seemed to be never-ending. While we are just getting started with some refurbishments, a few rides should be opening soon.

Frozen Ever After

If you haven’t been following MouseHouseNews.net lately and haven’t visited EPCOT recently, you may have missed that Frozen Ever After has been closed. The popular ride in the Norway pavilion is at the end of a short closure to upgrade the ride’s Audio-Animatronics. As we reported yesterday, Frozen Ever After should be re-opening later this week. Once that happens, you’ll see a more realistic looking Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

For those who don’t know, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is the wildest ride in the wilderness! The Frontierland coaster has been closed for over a year due to refurbishment, as well as the addition of a little magic. As MouseHouseNews.net reported last year, the ride’s final day of operation was January 5, 2025. Visitors to Magic Kingdom during most of 2025 were met with a construction sign at the ride’s entrance, and we anxiously await its reopening. Disney plans to open this ride this Spring.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin allows us to battle Zurg from Toy Story 2. Unfortunately, it has been months since we’ve been able to stop Zurg from stealing batteries from the toys. The ride closed in August so the XP-37 star cruisers could be upgraded. When the ride opens again, the vehicles will be all new with handheld blasters, replacing the vehicle-mounted blasters. The blasters will have always-on lasers that have different colored lasers, allowing you to more easily distinguish where your blaster is pointed vs. your teammate. Additionally, the targets are becoming more interactive. We can’t wait to see these upgrades when the ride opens this Spring!

While there are upcoming closures affecting rides such as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Spring re-openings of the previously mentioned rides are exciting! These rides are popular amongst Disney Adults so, if you are headed to Disney World mid-year, these rides should be nearly open. Additionally, Disney Resorts guests can also take advantage of the free water park tickets on your check-in day this summer. MouseHouseNews.net will bring you the latest news affecting your upcoming Disney World trip, so stay tuned!
