REMINDER: Boat Service Will Be Temporarily SUSPENDED At Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Staying at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel in the Magic Kingdom area has so many benefits! All of these hotels are Deluxe level resorts, meaning they have deluxe level amenities. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is just one of the Magic Kingdom area resorts. Besides having very nice rooms with interior doorways, a great location, and many dining options, there are also multiple transportation options for guests staying at these resorts. Unfortunately for guests with plans to stay at Wilderness Lodge, there will soon only be one free transportation option.

There are actually two boat routes that serve the resort: the Red Flag and the Blue Flag. The Red Flag will take guests from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom and back. The Blue Flag, which runs between 3:00 PM and 10:45 PM, takes guests from Wilderness Lodge to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, then on to Disney’s Contemporary Resort before returning to Wilderness Lodge.

The Red Flag route operates between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Magic Kingdom

As MouseHouseNews.net previously reported, boat service will soon be temporarily suspended at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This closure will affect both routes, as they both depart from the same boat dock. Disney will be performing routine maintenance on the boat dock beginning Monday, January 12, 2026. During the first phase of the dock maintenance, a full closure will take place. This closure of the boat dock is expected to last through January 30, 2026.

The Blue Flag route operates beginning in the afternoon

As a reminder, Disney will be providing bus service to Magic Kingdom from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge during this time. This means there will be no interruption to your park plans. However, you will be unable to enjoy a ride on the water from the resort during this couple of weeks. Although the dock plans to reopen at the end of the month, maintenance will continue on the boat dock through early April.

This is just something to keep in mind if you have plans to stay at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge soon. Only a few final days remain before Disney suspends boat service at the resort. If you planned to take a ride on the water, there are other free Disney transportation methods (including other water routes) you can ride to satisfy your need. MouseHouseNews.net will keep you informed on the progress of this project as we find out more information.
