Three cheers for the Most Magical Place on Earth! Walt Disney World is the perfect vacation destination to experience enchanting attractions, inspiring entertainment, delicious dining, and more. If you are averse to large crowds, there are several weekends in the once quiet months of January and February that you will want to be aware. College Nationals
Be prepared for College Nationals to bring collegiate cheerleaders and dancers from schools across the country to Walt Disney World from January 16-18, 2026 for the UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship.
National School Spirit Championships
Following the college level competitions, Disney World will host high school competitors for the National School Spirit Championships during the weekends of January 30 – February 1, 2026 and February 6 – 8, 2026. Numerous cheer squads, dance teams, and school bands representing schools from around the country will compete during these events.

While the actual competitions take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, you will definitely see competitors, their families, and their fans throughout Disney World. Expect to see increased crowds inside the theme parks on the days surrounding these competitions. Additionally, Disney has partnered with Varsity Spirit to offer participants accommodations packages at several resort hotels. If you are staying at any of the following resorts during this time, expect additional crowds (especially in common areas such as dining establishments) and the occasional group practice session:
- Disney’s All Star Resorts (during all 3 competition weekends)
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (during high school competition weekends)
- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort (during high school competition weekends)
- Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort (during high school competition weekends)
- Disney’s Pop Century Resort (during high school competition weekends)
