Tropical Drinks In Tiki Mugs Are Now Available EARLIER At These Polynesian Lounges

Nothing says “I’m on vacation” quite like walking around with a cocktail. It’s especially special when you’re sipping the cocktail from a pearl, or even a tiki mug! These are regular occurrences over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Two lounges at the resort provide you with experiences that transport you to a tropical hideaway full of unique drinks. Lately, MouseHouseNews.net has noticed that you can now enjoy these drinks for extended hours each day.

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is an entertaining, and highly sought after, lounge at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. It is so much demand that you need to get on a walk-up wait list to gain entry (you can now be added to the wait list from the MyDisneyExperience app). Grog Grotto is actually open to all ages, but at 8 PM, it becomes adults-only (age 21+) and becomes really interesting (and a bit rowdy)! If you are looking for a tamer atmosphere with the same drinks, and the ability to purchase the same tiki mugs found at Grog Grotto, you can visit Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace. This outdoor lounge is found behind Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto in the rear of the resort’s Great Ceremonial House.

Previously, both Trader Sam’s locations opened at 3:00 PM and closed at 11:00 PM. However, Disney recently expanded the operating hours of both locations. You can now enjoy the libations from 11:00 AM – midnight at Grog Grotto and 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM at Tiki Terrace!

This means you get an additional 4 – 5 hours each day to squeeze in a visit. If you have a trip planned to Walt Disney World and plan to be in the area of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (including Magic Kingdom), be sure to add a Trader Sam’s visit to your plans. If you’re not into alcoholic drinks, I recommend trying the non-alcoholic Schweitzer Falls or the zero-proof Polynesian Punch. There is also a small selection of small bites such as Thai Chicken Flatbread, Pan-Fried Dumplings, and more.

You really can’t miss when you choose to spend some time at either Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto or Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace. It is a great way to take a break when you are trying to relax and unwind.
