Disney’s Hollywood Studios is in the middle of a transformation in some areas. Earlier this year, MouseHouseNews.net reported on the closure of the Muppets Courtyard area, the debut of two new shows, and the closure of Star Wars Launch Bay as part of the larger Animation Courtyard revamp. Muppets fans were particularly vocal about the closure of Muppets Courtyard. However, Disney promised we’ll see the Muppets again soon as part of another ride.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is a high speed coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studio. Riders are traveling with the band Aerosmith as they leave a recording session on the way to a concert. However, they are running late, and Los Angeles traffic is heavy. So you’ll hop into their “limousine” and race through the streets past all of the traffic, encountering two loops and a corkscrew, and eventually arriving at the concert. All the while, you will be listening to the pulsing sounds of Aerosmith through a 125-speaker, 24-subwoofer, 32,000-watt sound system.

When news of the ride’s revamp was announced, we heard the story behind Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster would be changing. Instead of the Aerosmith theming, we’ll see a Muppets theming. Now we know exactly when to expect the end of the Aerosmith era.

Disney has announced that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will be closing effective March 2, 2026. This means that if you want to ride the coaster with the Aerosmith soundtrack and theming, your last day to do so will be March 1st. The ride will then close for the re-imagination of the ride and re-open in Summer 2026 as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. If you have plans to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios by March 1st, you may want to make this ride a priority. It may be your final opportunity to experience Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in its original form!

Be sure to mark your calendars so you don’t miss your final opportunity to ride this iconic ride! For more Disney Vacation News and Reviews For Disney Adults, stay tuned to MouseHouseNews.net.
