Disney Adults know how to have fun. We know that rides, character interactions, food, and stage shows are where it’s at! So, follow me with this thought. What happens when you take all of those fun things and add in some glam as well as some holiday magic? Well, that sounds like it could be a great date night!
Jollywood Nights is a separately ticketed holiday event that takes place on select nights through December 22nd at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Tickets are on sale now. Jollywood Nights celebrates the glitz and glamor of old Hollywood with a Christmas flair, so plenty of guests dress up accordingly. Expect to see a lot of sequins and shimmer at this party!
Of course, it cannot be a Disney World event without those rides, character meet and greets, plenty of food options, Hollywood-style entertainment, and snoap (fake snow made of soap)! It is all of this wrapped into one package that makes Jollywood Nights perfect for a fun date night. If you are overdue for a date night and will be visiting Disney World, consider this itinerary of five must-dos at Jollywood Nights:
Stage Shows
Jollywood Nights has a number of stage shows you can choose from during your date night. The headliner, Disney Holidays in Hollywood, can be seen above. There is also a skating show in front of the Chinese Theater called Glisten! Or, if sing-alongs are your thing, you can also catch the What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along at Hyperion Theater.
Live Music & Dancing
Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club is the location where you can sip on a cocktail, enjoy live music from Rachel and the Alleycats, and enjoy dancing to some holiday tunes with your date. This event takes place in the courtyard of the Hollywood Tower Hotel, and you’ll find Chip Callaway and Cookie Fitzgerald on the dance floor with you (so don’t be shy)!
Dining
The food at Jollywood Nights can be a little more upscale than what you would find at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party over at Magic Kingdom. A good example of this is the Jazzy Holidays offering at The Hollywood Brown Derby. Jazzy Holidays offers small plates such as shrimp cocktail, pork belly bao, and jazzy sliders. There is also a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. While you eat, enjoy some holiday tunes with a live singer on piano. Bon appétit!
Holiday Atmosphere
The atmosphere is decidedly more adult and upscale at Jollywood Nights events. This is not to say that you can’t attend wearing regular clothes or that children are not allowed. However, this event definitely caters more towards Disney Adults! So, feel free to dress to the nines and come ready to party! If you’re in the right place at the right time, you’ll even see some snoap falling from the sky. It doesn’t get much more romantic than that!
Meet Rare Characters
You and your date could top off the night with a rare character interaction. One of the most popular meet and greets at Jollywood Studios is with Duffy dressed as Santa. You may wait a while for this one, but it’s worth it. You and your date can also meet other rare characters such as Bing Bong from Inside Out, José Carioca or Panchito from The Three Caballeros, or Partysaurus Rex.
