Disney’s Beach Club Resort Is Celebrating A BIRTHDAY!

With so many Disney Resorts to choose from, it can be very difficult to pick a favorite. One of our top hotel picks, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, is celebrating a birthday today! This Deluxe level resort opened on November 19, 1990. Wow, time sure flies! Beach Club has something for everyone, including a variety of room types. You will find everything from standard and deluxe rooms to VIP suites and Club Level options. Let’s take a moment to discuss a few of the other reasons why Beach Club may be right for you!

Location

One of the most notable things about Disney’s Beach Club resort is its supreme location. Did you know that Beach Club is only steps away from the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT? As discussed in our post about resorts with walking paths to theme parks, Beach Club is actually located the closest to a theme park out of all of the Disney hotels. A 5 minute walk to EPCOT (or 15 minute walk to Hollywood Studios) can’t be beat!

Skyliner and Boat Access

If walking isn’t quite your style, you can also get from Beach Club to Hollywood Studios using the nearby Disney Skyliner. Simply board the Skyliner at the EPCOT International Gateway station. In addition to theme park access, the Skyliner also allows for convenient travel to the other resorts located along its route. That means you have a number of additional dining options for your stay!

An alternative way to get to EPCOT for some maple popcorn or Hollywood Studios for your Wookiee Cookie is to take a FriendShip. This short, relaxing boat ride is another convenient way to travel back and forth between Beach Club and a variety of neighboring destinations.

Dining Options

Beach Club has several popular dining options on site. Whether you want to tackle the infamous Kitchen Sink Sundae at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop or enjoy a character breakfast hosted by Minnie Mouse at Cape May Cafe, you definitely have delicious choices! Other resorts in the area (Yacht Club, Boardwalk Inn, Swan and Dolphin) also house multiple restaurants. Finally, since EPCOT is only steps away, Beach Club guests have easy access to all of the festival foods and restaurants there as well.

Stormalong Bay

Saving the best for last, we can’t talk about Beach Club without mentioning Stormalong Bay. It’s a 3-acre waterpark caliber pool area Beach Club shares with its sister resort, Yacht Club. Stormalong Bay completed a renovation in 2025, but it still retains all of the sought-after features guests love. The pool area boasts a sand-bottomed pool, three whirlpool spas, and 795,000 gallons of water! Also, prepare to be impressed by one of the highest hotel pool slides in Disney World. Originating from a life-sized shipwreck replica, the 230-foot-long waterslide provides plenty of thrills. However, one of my absolute favorite features of Stormalong Bay is the lazy river. I could spend all day just floating around on the current and enjoying the sights.
