Beware Of Upcoming Disney Skyliner CLOSURES at Walt Disney World

One of the great joys of staying at certain Disney Resorts Collection Hotels is the wonderfully themed (and free) transportation! Everyone has their favorite mode of Disney transportation… from bus, boat, monorail, and Disney Skyliner; there’s plenty of free options that can get you from point A to point B at the Most Magical Place on Earth. However, there is an upcoming service interruption that you should know about, particularly if you plan to travel to a Disney World location along the Disney Skyliner route.

The Disney Skyliner soars above Disney’s Caribbean Resort

In previous years, the Disney Skyliner has been down for a week in January for planned maintenance. Curiously, this planned closure did not happen earlier this year. If you have plans to be at Walt Disney World this upcoming January, though, we’re here to tell you that the planned maintenance is back on the calendar.

Disney has confirmed that the Disney Skyliner will be down for maintenance from January 25 – January 31, 2026. This means that there will be bus service offered between the following locations:

  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Disney’s Pop Century Resort
  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
  • Disney’s Riviera Resort
  • EPCOT International Gateway entrance

As MouseHouseNews.net previously reported, you can also expect construction at Disney’s Pop Century. If you are staying at that resort during the Skyliner maintenance, this may be even more bothersome.

Disney Transport bus at Magic Kingdom

The temporary closure of the Disney Skyliner is a bit inconvenient if you are either staying at one of the resorts listed above, or if you are trying to do some resort hopping between these resorts. While the Disney buses are completely adequate, they do introduce additional transportation time to your plans since you have to first wait on a bus to arrive, then wait for people to board, then wait for it to drive in a not-so-straight line to the destination. Be sure to keep this in mind if you are staying at or plan to visit one of the affected resorts. If anything changes with this plan, you can count on MouseHouseNews.net to bring you the latest information.
