Tucked away in Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you will find a unique attraction filled with meet and greets. Characters such as BB-8, Chewbacca, and the ever-popular Darth Vader await your visit to discuss rebel spy sightings, space talk, and whatever else may be on your mind. However, the days for this fun-filled experience are numbered.
Star Wars Launch Bay hosts authentic Star Wars movie props as well as the aforementioned meet and greets. It is located between Disney Jr. Play and Dance and The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure. Together with Walt Disney Presents, these attractions are located in Animation Courtyard. However, parts of Animation Courtyard are getting a makeover. This means we will have to say goodbye to Star Wars Launch Bay (Disney Jr. Play and Dance is also closing its doors).
If you want to meet Darth Vader, BB-8, and Chewbacca one last time, you have only a few days left. The final day to enjoy Star Wars Launch Bay is Wednesday.
On Thursday, September 25th, the attraction will close forever to make room for a new attraction: The Magic of Disney Animation. That attraction is scheduled to open in 2026 following a remodel of the building, which will add a giant Sorcerer Mickey hat to the entrance.
Star Wars Launch Bay also hosted an exclusive meet and greet with Darth Vader for Disney VISA card holders. Disney Rewards has announced that there will be a new exclusive experience coming soon to Hollywood Studios for card holders.
