There are a couple of hugely popular fireworks experiences at Magic Kingdom that allow guests to watch the Happily Ever After fireworks show from a climate controlled area while enjoying small snacks. These experiences are part of Disney World’s Enchanting Extras Collection, where you make an advance reservation and pay for the ability to take part in the experience. Now, EPCOT is getting an additional ‘snack while you watch’ fireworks experience starting in June.
You may recall that, last month, MouseHouseNews.net told you about a new adults-only lounge coming to EPCOT. The lounge, called GEO-82, will be for guests age 21 and up and will be located right next to Spaceship Earth (the big “golf ball” in EPCOT). Disney has just released additional information about GEO-82, including an opening date and the introduction of a new fireworks experience.
The lounge will open on Wednesday, June 4th. Starting May 6th, you will be able to start making advance reservations, which are required (not just recommended). The requirement is due to what Disney is describing as an “extremely limited space” inside of the lounge. In addition to the normal lounge operations, there will be the aforementioned Enchanting Extras Collection fireworks experience. Dubbed “GEO-82 Fireworks Experience”, this is an add-on for those age 21+ to sit in air conditioning and savor lounge bites & sips, all while seeing Luminous: The Symphony of Us with spectacular fireworks views. Your party will be sitting at a private table right at the window for this fireworks experience, making sure you have a clear view from your seat.

Included with your admission to GEO-82 Fireworks Experience is champagne that’s specially selected by Disney World sommeliers (or event-exclusive cocktails, if you prefer), savory light bites available before the fireworks begin, and sweets during the fireworks show.
If you want to plan to participate in this add-on, you must obtain an advance reservation specifically for GEO-82 Fireworks Experience, which will cost $179 per person plus tax and gratuities. At this time, there is no mention of discounts being offered. EPCOT admission and valid identification is required for entry. It is recommended that you arrive 60 minutes prior to the start of Luminous: The Symphony of Us. As with all fireworks-related events, Disney World is not guaranteeing that you will be able to see fireworks the night of your reservation since they cannot control factors which may cause the fireworks to be canceled. Something else to be aware of: Once this reservation has been made, modifications cannot be accommodated (although there is a 24-hour cancellation policy).

At $179, this is certainly one of the more expensive fireworks add-on of this type. Magic Kingdom does have similar options that range in cost from $99 – $129 for adults. However, this experience at EPCOT would theoretically have direct views of World Showcase Lagoon where the fireworks show originates, a very limited number of reservations, and the added benefit of being a kid-free event for people looking for that more grown-up, laid-back experience. As such, Disney likely priced this experience accordingly. As with all other advance reservations, once reservations open on May 6th, you will be able to make your reservation up to 60 days prior to your arrival date if staying at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel. Others can make a reservation up to 60 days prior to the date you wish to attend.
This experience certainly seems right up our alley here at MouseHouseNews.net. We will definitely attempt gaining entry to the GEO-82 Fireworks Experience sometime this summer and, when we do, we will let you know our experience.
