Late summer and early fall are great times to visit Walt Disney World. The crowd level starts decreasing as children return to school, your comfort level increases as the temperatures start dropping, and special holiday offerings return. Because of these reasons, the MouseHouseNews.net team highly recommends a trip to Disney World between the third week of August through September (the lone exception being Labor Day weekend). Another reason this is a great time to visit is the return of a fall favorite party: Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed event that occurs on certain evenings in the fall at Magic Kingdom Park. The party generally has events such as rare character meet-and-greets, special party overlays for certain rides, party specific merchandise and food/treats, a Halloween parade, and a Halloween fireworks show. There is also trick-or-treating and an opportunity for guests to wear costumes! As it is a hugely popular party, it does sell out most (if not all) nights of the event. While we don’t yet know which nights will offer a party for 2025, we did get some news in 2024’s schedule on May 6th. If this time frame holds true this year, you can expect more information within the next couple of weeks.
Even if you decide not to purchase a ticket for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, it is important to take notice of the dates when the party will take place. This is because Magic Kingdom will close early to guests who do not have tickets to the party. In recent years, the party started at 7:00 PM and ended at midnight on select days. This means that guests who bought a regular ticket for Magic Kingdom (but not Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party) will need to exit the park when it closes early (usually around 6:00 PM). This oftentimes also impacts the crowd level for that day at Magic Kingdom, as many guests skip Magic Kingdom on these days since they cannot spend as long in the park or see the fireworks show. In 2024, the Halloween party started on August 9th and continued for select nights until October 31st.

While we don’t yet know details about the 2025 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, it is helpful to know what has happened in the past to help you get a rough idea of what you might expect for this year. We expect Disney to release initial details about Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in the coming weeks, so stay tuned to MouseHouseNews.net for more information. We will post details once they are released!
