Disney Photopass is a photography service offered at Walt Disney World at their theme parks and, sometimes, select Disney Resorts Collection Hotels. Photopass photographers are stationed in various areas, able to take your photo at the ready. Sure, you can take selfies with your phone, but those are usually so zoomed in that you cannot see much of your surroundings in the photo (which is the entire point sometimes). So, instead of your photo proclaiming “here’s my family”, it will say “here’s my family at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge”. Even better, Photopass photographers can get everyone in the pictures as well as the surrounding area. This means the person who loves snapping all of those pics can actually be in the photo right alongside everyone else, which is the very first reason we love Photopass!

I am the resident photographer in my house. If there is a photo to be taken, I’m probably taking it. However, sometimes it seems that when I look back at vacation photos, I’m literally nowhere to be found. If I didn’t personally know I was on this vacation, there would certainly be no proof. This is a major perk, considering you won’t want to have your phone in selfie-mode at most of these points in the rides (if you are even prepared to do so). There’s something magical about candid shots with your favorite Disney characters. Yes, you can take those staged selfies with the characters after you say hello, they compliment your shirt with their face on it, and you talk about your favorite ride in the park, but Disney Photopass catches those candid times so you can concentrate on your conversation and enjoying the moment.
